Recovery Mode Repair

If your PC wont restart properly into Windows and keeps displaying the following screen

​Click See Advanced Repair Options

Then Troubleshoot

Choose advanced options

Then choose Command Prompt

You will then be looking at black Command Prompt screen, like below 

In this window  type the following commands

Chkdsk c: /f/r/x & press return

This command may take some time to complete

If this completes without any errors see if windows will now boot for you.

If this doesn't fix the issue go back to the Command Prompt screen 

And this time

Type SFC /Scannow

This will attempt to repair any corrupt/damaged windows files

After this finishes try to start your PC as normal

If this still fails 

At the Troubleshoot screen choose reset this PC rather than advanced options

This will install a fresh copy of windows for you and replace any of the damaged or missing files that the other steps couldn't fix

So at this screen choose  Reset this PC

Usually choose Keep My Files

​

Choose Local Reinstall

This will then repair/reinstall Windows 10/11 for you ​
