To try an fix this issue, follow these steps:
1. Make sure your SSD is securely plugged in.
2. Check to see if all SATA ports are enabled in the Bios.
3. Enter the bios by pressing F2 or Delete on startup. Check to see if the SSD is recognised here. If it is detectable in Bios, proceed to next step.
4. Go to device manager, go to disk drives, right click and scan for hardware changes. Check if SSD is recognised there.
5. Open the Disk Management tool. To do so, press Windows Key + R, type "diskmgmt.msc" into the Run dialog, and press Enter. You should see your SSD listed in the "Disk Management" window.
6. The second drive should be listed as "Disk 1". Right-click where it says "Disk 1" and click "initialise." This should force the SSD to show up.
7. Now create and new volume and format the SSD.
